Master Trade Goods List and Guide

Welcome to UWO-HQ's master trade goods list and guide.

About trade goods...

Trade goods can be bought and sold at the "market keeper NPC".

The availability of trade goods depends on the city you are. As expected cities will only sell a handful of items in bulk to captains like us.

The prices will also fluctuate, sometimes going up, sometimes going down.

Aggressive selling

Aggressive selling (usually 1 million ducats or more profit) can lead to the market crashing. In the context of Nanban an Franban it is called market protection when done deliberately.

A crashed market will not crash again for around 3 real world hours (Thus allowing you to safely sell the trade good type you want at maximum profit).

Aggressive buying

Aggressive buying by players can also raise the price dramatically. This, of course, requires the action of several players or it would be too easy to manipulate prices.

How to trade goods and be a good merchant

The fundamentals of trade is...

"Buy low and sell high"

It basically means taking something that is easily available somewhere (thus "cheap") and taking to where people want but it is not easily available (thus not "cheap").

Note: In this game you will likely make a profit unless you sell the good you bought in the same place. Or in a city that also sells the same product.

Specialty trade goods

Specialty trade goods are goods that, as the name says, are the specialty of a region. So it will likely be the only place in the world that it can be bought and can likely make a good profit if sold in an different region.

To understand what are the regions and how are they divided check this regions map. Or check my local specialty list below.

According to the game's mechanic, the farther you sell a specialty good are from the region you bought, the higher the profit. That is not the case for normal trade goods. Some goods can only be some for a good profit in europe (Diamond for example).

Specialty goods combo

If you sell multiple types of goods (50 units or more each), you get a combo. It means you can earn a lot more trade experience and fame per money / time invested in your trade run.

Rare Trade Goods (RTG)

RTG is a special trade mechanic where normal goods become rare for a small amount of time. It does not become specialty but their price is usually a lot more than a specialty good would be.

Think of it as an emergency: war, plague etc... that causes mass shortages of a common product.

I talk about it in my Rare Trade Goods guide.

Trade Goods List

This list is divided in sections.

Section 1 will list trade goods by type (Foodstuff, livestock, ...) and then list the goods in alphabetical order.

Section 2 will list specialty trade goods in alphabetical order.

Section 3 will list specialty trade goods by regions.

Section 4 will list approximate NPC prices.
