What is an "Epic Investment Battle"?
As the name suggests it is an event where players from all nations invest in a town to compete for its ownership.
But there are differences from traditional investment:
- Players need to take the quest and withdraw money from any town's bank other than the target town and invest. Then repeat the process.
- The quest is repeatable and everybody can invest up to 20m regardless the number of investment you did in that port. This prevents players from having an advantage over others who didn't invest before EIB.
- You gain three times more influence from the Epic Investment Battle when compared to normal investment.
How do I know it's on?
Your best chance is to watch for a red message containing the EIB announcement, most likely after 8 pm server time. Or watch merchant chat as players will likely comment about it.
Schedule
This event is not scheduled and is triggered by player actions.
It is supposed to trigger every 7 days if conditions are met due to player actions.
What exactly triggers it is unknown, but some people attribute it to high investment from different player nationalities in a target city. Others believe it triggers when 3 nations or more are close in % (Check at the city official NPC).
Time
The time may change over the years. This is the last usual real world time:
Procedure
- Take the quest at your nation's bank
- Sail to the target city with money.
- Sail back and forth from the nearest city. To port reset and get money as the target city's bank is closed.
Benefits
You earn up to 50 Patriot Awards (PAs) in the process. It's repeatable but Request Investment Book (RIBs) cannot be used.
Piracy
Epic Investment Battle (EIB) in hostile waters are likely to attract pirates and privateers as well, so be careful. Excellent opportunity for BHs (UWO Police).
