Thanksgiving Event (Special Thanksgiving Festival) + Schedule

What is a "Thanksgiving Festival Event"?

Thanksgiving is a monthly event for North America. It can't be fully predicted as some player events, like ESF and EPF, may postpone it.

It starts at 8 pm (server time) and stays on for 4 days.

Benefits

You can collect around 200k adventure XP during this event!

But there are also other benefits like:

• All railway company benefits are at maximum capacity. 
• Some recipes become available at the Traveller in each city (Check list below).
• Increased tow permits in Boston daily.
• 20% extra credits if you turn in your research in cities connected by the railway.

Thanksgiving Schedule

This schedule tries to predict the next thanksgiving event and will tell you when it last happened. Manual actions by Papaya (Like historical Events' ESF) and players may still change the starting date.

You can find current server time here. Or check the rest of the north american railway schedule.

If you want to confirm it, go to your favorite bar and talk to the barkeeper. You don't need to buy or drink anything, just read what he says.

If he says:

The Special Thanksgiving Festival is being held in North America at the moment. The towns of North America seem very crowded.

Means thanksgiving is ON right now. Anything else than it is not.

You can also tell if thanksgiving will be on later on that day if you try to invest in a railway company (Train guy at Omaha) and he says you can't invest be there because "something is going on...".

Guide for Easy Adventure XP

Requirements

• Port Permit for Boston (Caribbean permit)
• Collection or procurement skill (High enough to get 2 or more units at a time)

Procedure

Step 1: Go to Boston
Step 2: Ride to Omaha (using the chariot guy in front of bank)
Step 3: Talk to the train guy and go to a North american landing spot
Step 4: Find a landmark and start collecting / Procuring

Note 1: Talking to the train guy is only needed for the first time. Once you are past that step you can sail directly to your favorite collection / procurement spot.
Note 2: Common grass and other "fails" at collection do not yield XP. Check the automatic trade goods dumping option (It dumps rocks, sand and grass automatically). Also remember to set your aide to the "Lookout" job.
Note 3: If you are not collecting at least 2 units you will not get the 100 XP per finding. Wait for your collection / procurement skill to rank up or equip "field activities" Oxford skills.
Note 4: XP Boosters (including any server-wide) don't work on the thanksgiving 100 XP per finding. Also, it doesn't care which job you are.

Useful equipments that get scarce when thanksgiving is not on. Stock up and sell later at a higher price.

Used on: Shoes slot

Traveler's Comb (+2 sundries)

Skill Required: Handicrafts R10

Ingredients:

• Gold Thread x5
• Lumber x5
• Japanese Lacquer x10

Used on: Accessory slot

Frontier's Shirt (+1 Mineral trading, +1 appraisal)

Skill Required: Sewing R10

Piracy

The Thanksgiving Event attracts lots of players to Caribbean hostile waters. So it may attract pirates and privateers as well. Be careful or read my anti piracy guide.
