Arr, so ye wish to master the art of the silver tongue, do ye? Sociability be the skill that opens doors, sways nobles, and fattens yer purse without a single cannon shot. Mark this well: it's a fine grind for a young sea dog, but a wise one knows the lay of the land before setting sail.
The Heart of the Matter
In this world, yer reputation is yer truest currency. This skill be the measure of it. To raise it, ye must don a proper Job that favors talk over trade, and then make a name for yerself in one of two ways: through grand discoveries or heavy investment.
What Ye'll Need
- A fitting Job title. Many paths exist, from Merchant to Missionary.
- A ship and a thirst for glory (or a mountain of ducats).
- A Charm Box consumable, if ye wish to speed the voyage with a silvered tongue.
Two Paths to Glory
Ye stand at a crossroads, matey.
The Adventurer's Path be slower but costs nary a coin. Sail the seven seas, find new ports, and report yer discoveries to the right pompous lord. A fine path for those with more grit than gold.
The Merchant's Path be the fast lane, paved with gold. Invest vast sums in yer nation's ports using a Request Investment Book. The more ye invest, the faster yer fame grows, but mind the minimum required sum—it rises with yer rank!
Why Bother, Ye Ask?
Why? For influence, lad! For the power to walk into any Admiralty or Palace and have 'em listen. It unlocks grander opportunities, higher-tier Jobs, and the respect that turns a sailor into a legend.
If ye hunger for the full chart—every job listing, every investment trick, and every secret to trim weeks off yer grind—then make way for the complete log.

I believe your minimum rates are a bit off - I am pretty sure the minimum is your rank^2 in tens of thousands. So at R8, you need to invest min 64k, at R9, 81k... Close enough either way I suppose.
ReplyDeleteThanks for contributing with the formula Logan!
DeleteI realized after I typed it that it was such a small difference from what was in the guide it was sort of silly to comment. Then I figured, 'heck, I'm cheap, maybe others are too!' lol Love your site btw - I'm here all the time.
