How to grind Alchemy Skill (Alchemy Guide)

There is just too many complex/confusing advice on how to grind alchemy skill, so I'll focus here on what really works.

• Academic Tam (Completing Oxford university, requires title)

• Magic Staff

Helpful Consumables

• Food. Lots of food as alchemy eats a lot of Vigour.

Books Required

• Basic Alchemy-Secrets (Memorial Album)
• Craftsman's training book (Candia after 300k investment)
• Metal smelting book (Lubeck - Item shop)

Furniture Needed

At least one workbench or kiln. Doesn't matter if it is +1, +2 or +3 (Each one has a different name)

Grinding How to

Please note that the ranks listed here count as base + items. So if you use any + items listed above you will grind faster because you will have access to high rank recipes earlier.

Alchemy Rank 1 and 2

Go to Beirut, London (If english) or St. Petersburg. Buy Paper and make Western Books with the "Craftsman's training book".

Using "Basic Alchemy-Secrets" make Rare Books with the western books and paper bought from the market.

You can alternatively choose to make Mercury out of cinnabar but this rare books recipe is highly valuable and will be needed for later grind. So store your rare books for your future gold making grind.

Alchemy Rank 3, 4 and 5

You will need lots of clay. It's obtainable in a farm but it is also common in company shops.

Make Alchemy pots from Clay in your quarters. (Needs furniture)

Alchemy Rank 6

Gold making! Remember those rare books you made? You will need them all.

Go to John Dee in London. The recipe is:

• 5x Rare Books
• 5x Sulphur
• 10x Copper

Note: You will need to make more rare books.

The easiest source of materials is:

Paper

• London if you are English
• St. Petersburg if you are not

If you choose St. Petersburg bring the rare books to London (not the paper)

Sulphur and Copper

Get them in Stockholm. You will have to convert Copper Ore to Copper.

Alchemy Rank 11 (+ Handicrafts R11)

You are going to make "Explorer's Household Medicine" at Paracelsus (NPC) in Venice.

Handicrafts may be leeched from a fleet member but you should already have a high rank yourself.

The recipe requires:

• 1x Gaseous Drug
• 10x Honey (Buy in Zadar)
• 10x Digitalis (Buy in Sassari)

Just discard your production of household medicine.

Gaseous Drug is by far the hardest to make. It requires 10 Green Ore, 1 Seal of Sylph and 1 Flask per gaseous drugs.

I understand Alchemy grind is very frustrating to newbie players. Well it's meant to be but it actually isn't (when you know exactly what to do).
