Go to Benghazi and buy berries or go Famagusta and procure Berries (Big tree on the outskirts).
Using the "Traveller's food procuring skill" book turn berries to Dried Strawberries.
Alternatively you may fish outside port in any capital city as it will result in an fish you can use: Blue Mackerel, Herring, Sardine, Saury.
Using the "Fisherman Arts- Preservation" book turn one of the fishs above into "Fish".

Using the "Traveller's food procuring skill" book turn berries to Lime juice (Consumable). You will have to drop lots of it while grinding.

Storage Rank 8 and beyond (Fishing R8+)
Once you have high fishing skils (R8+) you can fish outside Syracuse for Tunas, Mako shark (R14) and Swordfish (R14). Convert those fish using "Fisherman Arts- Preservation" book.
Another quick alternative is making "Bamboo Leaf" in Lisbon's Pet Trainer. It will require an EA good called Bamboo which is not common and storage rank 14. So only choose this route if you have this EA good in hand.
