If you need to understand the basic of Epic biography, how to find it and initiate a chapter, just check my guide.
Note 1: You can only do one chapter per day.
Note 2: Consider if you are willing to buy or make the Sextant of Wisdom before starting this biography.
Major Benefit:
Astronomy skill rank limit increased by +1.
Requirements:
Book of wisdom.
Chapter 1 (Study in Italy):
Important: The storyline is generally triggered by just entering the city / port. Sometimes you will need to sail a number of days but you need not be moving (It also does not need to be in "one go").
After you start the storyline:
1) You will go to Venice (if you are not already).
2) After some time go to Rome. Note: I waited 33 days in game days at sea before going to Rome and it was enough. (30 days at sea should be enough).
3) Talk to Copernicus (in front of Rome's church). There is an icon in the mini map for him.
4) After some time go to Danzig. Note: I sailed for 21 days in game days (Naples -> Danzig) and it was not enough. So I sailed 10 days more and the chapter triggered when entered the city. (30 days at sea was enough).
5) After some time go to Venice. Note: I sailed for 24 days in game days (Danzig -> Venice) and it was not enough. So I sailed 24 days more and it still wasn't enough. The chapter triggered when entered the city (probably after around 60 total days at sea - does not need to be in one go).

If you are a trader, consider making and storing the Sextant of Wisdom. People will happily pay a lot of money for it so it is worth to have them stored (you never know when demand for it will arise).
