Forging is a powerful way to enhance your gear beyond the maximum, but it can be confusing and resource-intensive for new and intermediate players. This guide will break down the essentials to help you understand how the system works.
1. Basics of Equipment Forging
- You can only forge weapons up to +30 Attack and +25 Defense.
- You can only forge armour up to +25 Attack and +30 Defense.
- You can only forge accessories up to +25 Attack and +25 Defense.
- There are two main ways to forge:
- Using Tools (Weaponsmith's Forging Tool / Armoursmith's Forging Tool) and its stronger versions: AWFT and AAFT.
- Transmutation (requires Alchemy)
Note: There are other ways to get an improved equipment, like getting great successes during production or using specific recipes (like the fool's hands recipe). This guide will focus on getting beyond stat 100 with forging.
2. Equipment Types & Forging Methods

⚠️ Warning: Do not confuse Armoursmith's Forging Tool (AFT) with Armouringsmith's Forging Tool (AFT Plate / used for ship parts).
Note: AAFT/AWFT can be made from AFT/WFT using Artist's Forging Tools Making Techniques (recipe book from the michelangelo biography)
3. Forging with Tools (WFT & AFT)
- How it works:
- Select the tool (WFT for weapons, AFT for armor) and use it on the gear.
- Each tool gives +1 to the primary stat.
- Maxing out requires 25 basic tools per piece (or transmutation) + 5 AAFT (or AWFT).
Example:
- To max a Head armor's Defense, you need 25 AFT + 5 AAFT.
- To increase its Attack, you must use Transmutation.
- When its a weapon, you can use WFT for attack but you will need transmutation for its defense.
4. Forging with Transmutation (Alchemy-Based)
Transmutation is a probability-based system (low % base success rate) and requires:
- 5 × 10M Cheques
- 5 × Special Purchase Bonds (SPB)
- 10 × Alchemy Materials (Ignis Solution / Terra Extract)
Boosting Success & Efficiency
- Book of Uroboros → 100% success rate for the next forge attempt.
- Book of Unicorn → If successful, gives +2 instead of +1.
Note: When Atlantis is on, the success rate for transmutation increases making it more viable using the wingless book.
