Levelling guide for Battle Levels and Battle Fame

There are many reasons why you would like to raise your battle level:

• Sail a new ship.
• Become npc pirate resistant.
• Raise your vigour cap.
• Increase land battle stamina.
• Increase the number the number of skills you can have at the same time.
• Increase your cannon and melee strength.

Why you would not want to raise your battle level:

• You are a pirate or intend to go pirate.

So you still want to raise your battle levels? Let's dig into it.

Battle Reports (BR) - Fast level up

Battle Reports are normal quests obtained in some Maritime Guilds (Or mediators).

Black Sea BR

The battle report from Istanbul is the most popular choice:

• In Europe.
• Great XP and Fame per quest
• Lots of enemies, strong and weak, 3 or 4 ships per fleet.

As explained above, Battle Reports are a great source of XP and fame but they do have one problem: 

They are time consuming and, most of the time, hard to beat on your own.

So that's when the AoS party comes in. 

AoS Party

AoS is short for Amulet of the Sun, an accessory (equipment) that does not lose durability at sea. Party because you need more than one player or toon.

Party Procedure

The procedure is simple:

Step 1: Get the Battle Report quest at Istanbul maritime mediator.
Step 2: Find a npc (victim) on the seas of your BR (Battle Report) and attack. If your victim is strong try to start the battle at the outermost battle ring (approach slowly).

Step 3: Once in battle, use the AoS until you defeat the enemy fleet.  It should take you 10 - 15 seconds per fleet. 

Step 4: Look for another prey and repeat until you get 200/200 and all formidable enemies down.
Step 5: Go back to Istanbul and report your BR. Use XP boosters if you can (There is a free +50% XP booster you get from starter pack lvl 30).

Requirements & Tips

• You should have a fleet with, at least, 3 toons. 
• Each toon should have a ship with decent durability (500+) or formidable enemies will sink you. If you can't avoid this requirement try to have a strong admiral. You still earn kills if you get sunk but your admiral win the battle.
• Each toon should cast (use) AoS at the same time or close (Strong enemies repair quickly).
• Put AoS in the custom slots for quicker use.
• Do NOT use caution, high lookout ship skill or equivalent pet skill (the formidable enemies will not ambush you).
• Take down the formidable enemy fleet whenever you can.
  
• Flagged fleets (like ottomans) do not count towards quest completion. Even if they attacked you.
• If you want to repeat the same Battle Report quest, you need to take (and complete) a different quest first.

How many AoS?

4 AoS uses defeat strong fleets in 99% of the cases. Each fleet may be comprised of 3 ships on average.

You should use AoS (200*4)/3 = 267 times.

Each AoS has 20 durability so you should take 267/20= at least 14 AoS per BR

So take at least 14 AoS per BR and spread these AoS between your toons. This is a conservative estimation because you don't lose 1 durability (per use) every time. Most times you do but in some you don't.

NPC to attack

Any will do, but if you are too high level some will not give you immediate experience. Giving experience after battle or not will still allow you to harvest massive battle fame and experience.

I marked on the map some row fleets that usually give good experience until you are "late 40s". They also won't (Or hardly ever) rip your sails and slow you down.

Tip 1: The weakest npcs can be found along the coast while the stronger stay in deep waters.

Tip 2: Be careful as these are hostile waters and players may attack you. Bring some tributes.

Tip 3: Black Sea's NW also has strong fleets but they are usually taken by other grinders. It's up to you to find your spot.

Best Battle Experience Grinding

Black Sea BR is good advice but not the best.
