Grinding How to
Your first step, if not completed already, is work on your procurement to get it to R2. Hit the procurement skill in any landing point landmark (or city outskirts if).
Then work on your oxford thesis to get access to the following Oxford skills (as soon as possible):
The proficiency you earn is proportional to the amount of goods you obtain. And these skills give you a MASSIVE boost.
It may sound silly but you need to bring in food. Lots of food. You can buy those at the tavern's clerks (Major cities only). Also remember to be in a job that favors procurement.
It is also recommended to have a big fat cargo ship for your convenience. Clermonts are the largest but take a while to unlock. If you can, give a ship to an aide captain.
The next step is choosing the place to do the grind.

- It is very close to Seville, so it is accessible to newbies.
- It has low common grass/rocks % in comparison to the other goods.
- It has high rank goods like barley and upland rice. The higher the ranked need the more proficiency you get.
Ok so now you have the oxford skills, the procurement skill, lots of food, just hit that procurement skill button, make sure to have enough vigour and empty your cargo from time to time.
By the way, don't be afraid of the "You have become tired from using a skill..." message. That's only for adventure experience and you will get procurement proficiency all day long.
